The Consorzio Tutela Aceto Balsamico di Modena (Consortium for the Protection of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGI) is pleased to support, as an organizing sponsor, the 9th edition of MS Food Day, the international congress dedicated to the applications of mass spectrometry in the food sector, taking place from 7 to 9 October 2026 at the Modena Chamber of Commerce.
The event, organized by the Italian Chemical Society – Mass Spectrometry Division, is one of the leading scientific gatherings dedicated to innovation in food analysis, bringing together researchers, universities, control bodies, laboratories and companies to discuss the latest developments in food authenticity and traceability, safety, quality, FoodOmics, artificial intelligence and new analytical methodologies. The initiative is held under the patronage of UNIMORE – University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and the Modena Chamber of Commerce.
The Consortium’s participation confirms its ongoing commitment to promoting scientific research and innovation applied to the protection of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGI. Modern analytical techniques are indeed an essential tool for guaranteeing the authenticity of the product, countering imitations and strengthening consumer confidence in Geographical Indications.
The Consortium’s presence takes on even greater significance given that the congress devotes ample space to the topics of authentication, traceability and food quality control — strategic aspects for the enhancement of certified products and the protection of Made in Italy in the agri-food sector.
Among the institutions supporting the event are some of Italy’s leading agri-food companies, such as Barilla, Illy, Parmalat and Coop Italia, along with Bonassisalab for food safety.
Sponsors include leading international companies in scientific instrumentation and in technologies for chemical and food analysis, including Thermo Fisher Scientific, Waters, Agilent Technologies, SCIEX, Bruker, Shimadzu, LECO, SRA Instruments, Restek and Peak Scientific. Their presence testifies to the central role of scientific research and of the most advanced analytical methodologies in protecting the authenticity, quality and safety of certified agri-food products.
